As I’m sure you are aware, Governor Pritzker issued COVID-19 Executive Order No. 8 on Friday, March 20, 2020. This order essentially asks Illinois residents to shelter at home and practice social distance when outside of the home for essential purposes from March 21, 2020 through April 7, 2020. Leaving the home for essential activities, including certain types of work, is permitted. Paragraph 12 of the executive order defines essential business and operations and includes insurance services, which includes our agents and body shops as well. Therefore, our offices must remain open.
Accordingly, our building will reopen on Tuesday, March 24th. The state has communicated that all local roads and expressways will remain open. You will not be stopped on your way to work just for being out. If you are concerned, you can always pull up this email on your phone and show your employee ID badge. If you are scheduled to work in the office on Tuesday, then you should report to work as expected. Please contact me if you have any questions.
